How To Use Cream

Application:

  1. Wash the area receiving tattoo or laser treatment with soap and water.
  2. Cover the skin with a hot towel for 5 minutes, then dry the area completely.
  3. Apply a thick amount of TKTX numbing cream to the area and rub it in thoroughly.
  4. After massaging the cream into the skin, apply a second heavy layer of TKTX cream (1/8″ or 2-3 mm thick) over the area.
  5. Cover the TKTX cream with plastic wrap (saran wrap) and keep it warm. The heat under the plastic wrap helps activate the cream and prevents it from drying out.
  6. Leave the TKTX cream and wrap in place for 1 hour before the tattoo. For long procedures lasting hours over large areas, apply numbing cream over the entire work area, then remove it in sections as the procedure progresses.
  7. The skin typically remains numb for 3 – 5 hours once the cream is removed from numbed skin, depending on skin type and location on the body.

Attention: Numbing time depends on the thickness and sealing time.

Pharmacological actions: Lidocaine cream works by temporarily blocking the pathway of pain signals along nerves. It achieves this by inhibiting the entry of sodium into the nerve endings at the site of pain. This prevents the accumulation of electrical signals and their transmission along the nerve fibers to the brain.

Pharmacokinetics: Lidocaine may be absorbed following topical administration to mucous membranes. Its rate and extent of absorption depend on the specific site of application, duration of exposure, concentration, and total dosage. You may experience reddening of the procedure area.

Warning:

  • Not to be used on children under 6 years old.
  • Not to be used during pregnancy and lactation.
  • Do not use if allergic to lidocaine or other local anesthetics.
  • Avoid applying the cream to cuts, grazes, wounds, areas with skin rash or eczema, or near the eyes, ears, mouth, nose (inside), anus, or genitals of children.
  • For adults and children 6 years of age and older: Apply to affected areas no more than 2 times a day. Children under 6 years old should consult a physician.
  • If you experience bothersome side effects or unusual effects while using TKTX cream, stop using it and contact your medical provider immediately.

Adverse reactions: Possible side effects may include swelling or redness at the application site, unusual sensations on the skin, or pale skin. Severe to rare side effects may include allergic reactions such as hives, rash, itchiness, facial swelling, difficulty in breathing, or tightness in the chest.

Overdosage: Medicines affect individuals differently. If you experience any unusual effects while using the cream, stop using it and contact your medical provider immediately. Treatment should be symptomatic and supportive.
